Was It Worth It?
Valentines is a special day celebrated by not only lovers, but also loved ones like family members and friends. For me, it is when we show our love to our peers, not only romantically, but also platonically; Even if we think that we don't feel any love from the people we know, love doesn't always have to come from other people, but God himself is the whole definition of love and forgiveness.
It isn't only about loving, but also forgiving. No one is perfect, as the word itself and never be attainable to any human life. If I were to critique it, valentines is the perfect day and opportunity to grasp when we want to show our feelings towards a person. Did you know that the Valentines day actually became a thing because a priest named Valentine let marriage happen to teenagers who were in love but did it in secrecy, and not long after got caught and was killed? He was executed in the 14th of February, and starting from then on, February 14 became Valentines day, named after the priest himself.
We celebrate the day in different ways, but we only have one reason, and objective. It doesn't always have to be a lover, or your other half you need to spent with during valentines. I myself, didn't even spend it with a lover, but I managed to spread positivity and love with the people around me. We don't need expensive gifts to show appreciation towards someone. Personally, I like it more when people make efforts and lend time rather than spending thousands.
